About this calculator

This tool builds a full year of expenses and income without asking you to do the annualizing math first. Instead of entering a yearly number up front, enter each amount the way it naturally occurs — a monthly rent figure, a twice-yearly insurance premium, a one-time scholarship payout — and let the × multiplier work out the true yearly total. Use the Standard toggle for a general yearly budget across fourteen everyday expense categories and two income sources (Primary income, Secondary income), or switch to Student for thirteen categories built around tuition, course materials, and student-specific income like scholarships and part-time work.

How the multiplier works

Every row has an Entered amount and an optional × column, accepting any value from 2 to 52. Amount is calculated automatically as Entered × the multiplier. Leave × blank if the figure you entered is already a yearly amount — it's treated as ×1. Use 12 for something monthly, 4 for quarterly, 2 for half-yearly, 26 for biweekly, or 52 for weekly. The same logic applies on both the expense and income sides, so a monthly salary and a twice-yearly insurance premium sit side by side and both convert correctly to their true yearly value.

Adding more categories

If the built-in list doesn't cover everything you need, use "Add more categories" under Expenses or "Add more sources" under Income. Each click adds three new rows at once, each with an editable name field capped at 31 characters, plus its own Entered, ×, and Amount columns. You can do this up to ten times on either table. Switching between Standard and Student clears the table, including any custom rows, since the two use different category sets.

Net savings and net deficit

The card at the bottom shows one of two things depending on your numbers: Net savings, when your yearly income covers your yearly expenses with something left over, or Net deficit, when expenses exceed income. The label switches automatically — the amount shown is always positive regardless of which direction it goes, so what changes is the word above it, not the sign in front of the figure.

Copy, download and share

Copy result places a properly formatted table onto your clipboard, including the Entered, ×, and Amount columns — pasting it into Word, Gmail, or Google Docs shows an actual aligned table, not a wall of plain text, and a plain-text version is included automatically for anywhere that doesn't accept rich formatting. Download report saves a separate, nicely formatted HTML file you can keep, print, or send as an attachment, generated entirely in your browser, with nothing passing through any server. Share hands that same report file to your device's own share sheet, so it can go straight into WhatsApp, Gmail, or any other app on a phone without downloading it first; it only appears where your browser supports it, with Download as the fallback everywhere else. Download CSV saves the same figures as a spreadsheet-ready file, and Print opens your browser's own print dialog with the same report — both are created in your browser, with nothing sent anywhere.

Choosing a title

The field at the top shows "Standard Yearly Budget" or "Student Yearly Budget" as a placeholder depending on your toggle — click it and type your own title, such as the year or a specific purpose. Whatever you type becomes the heading on both the copied table and the downloaded report.

Nothing you enter is saved between visits — refreshing the page resets the calculator completely, and no data is ever transmitted anywhere. Every number, and any custom category name you type, stays local to your own browser the entire time.
