WordX Numbers and Tools opens as a Chrome side panel, so you can calculate while browsing any website. It also works side by side with any PDF open in Chrome — work out figures from bank statements, invoices or reports without switching tabs. Calculate with your physical keyboard or the on-screen keypad, and pin it in Chrome for quicker access.

Basic and Scientific Calculator

A basic calculator and a scientific calculator, with calculation history. Memory (M+, M−, MR) always starts fresh on the next number.

Five scientific tools

Reachable directly from the Scientific Calculator and from the Tools screen, each with step-by-step breakdowns:

  • Equation Solver — x² − 5x + 6 = 0 gives x = 2 or x = 3.
  • Fractions — 3/4 + 5/6 = 19/12.
  • Complex Numbers — (3+4i) × (2−i) = 10 + 5i.
  • Matrix — the determinant of [1,2;3,4] is −2.
  • Number Tools — Base-N conversion (255 in decimal is FF in hex), GCD/LCM and prime factorization.

Loan / EMI

Enter your loan amount, interest rate and tenure to see instantly:

  • Monthly EMI, total interest and total amount payable.
  • A detailed amortization schedule showing the opening balance, interest, principal repayment and closing balance for each year, so you can see how the loan is paid down over time.

Two-phase EMI planning

Useful when your repayment capacity will change partway through the loan — a lower EMI now and a higher one once your income grows, or the other way around.

  • Fill in your loan details on the Loan/EMI screen and press GO. The Split EMI option then becomes available.
  • Set a custom Phase 1 duration and EMI amount.
  • The extension solves the exact Phase 2 EMI needed to repay the loan in full within your original tenure.
  • See the complete combined amortization schedule across both phases in one table.

Goal Planning

Planning for a financial target? Enter the target amount, the initial amount, the interest rate and the time period, then press GO. You get the required yearly contribution, total invested, total interest earned, and a detailed yearly breakdown showing how your investment grows toward the target.

Fixed Deposit and Compounder / SIP

The Compounder tool supports Fixed Deposits. Enter the deposit amount, interest rate and tenure, choose yearly or half-yearly compounding, and press GO to see the deposit, the interest earned, the maturity amount and the opening amount, interest and closing amount for each year. Compounder/SIP also shows a year-by-year view of your investment growth.

Percentage — three modes

  • % of — 20% of 9,900 = 1,980. Tap “+” to add the percentage on top (18% GST, a service charge, a tip or any markup), or “−” to subtract it (a 20% discount), so it doubles as a quick discount calculator.
  • is what % — 150 is what % of 850 = 17.65%.
  • is % of what — 1,100 is 300% of what? = 366.67.

More tools
